About CBT
Starting Your Journey
How do I know if CBT is right for me?
CBT can be helpful if you’re experiencing emotional difficulties that interfere with your daily life. It’s particularly effective if you notice patterns of negative thinking or behaviours you’d like to change.
The best way to find out is through our free 15-minute consultation where we can discuss your specific situation.
GP Referrals
Do I need a referral from my GP?
No, you don’t need a GP referral for private CBT sessions. You can contact me directly to book your free consultation.
However, it may be helpful to let your GP know you’re seeking therapy, especially if you’re taking medication for mental health conditions.
Your Initial Assessment
What happens in the first session?
Your first session (initial assessment) includes discussing your current difficulties, exploring your background, setting initial goals, explaining how CBT works, developing a treatment plan, and answering any questions you have.
